System requirements
- 64-bit Windows 10/11, macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, or a modern 64-bit Linux distribution
- 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB+ recommended); additional RAM/VRAM helps when running local AI models
- Disk space for thumbnails and the index (scales with your library size)
- Optional, for offline AI: Ollama or LM Studio installed locally
- Optional, for cloud AI: an API key from your chosen provider (Claude, GPT, Gemini, and more)
Get started in four steps
- 1. Install PicSy and open it.
- 2. Add the folders you want to search — it builds a fast local index.
- 3. Pick an AI provider: a local model (free, private) or a cloud model with your key.
- 4. Search your library in plain language. That's it.
